The Complex house is intended as an extreme exercise in spatial and distribution modularity. The name “complex” in fact derives from the design effort made to coexist “nine” different and clearly separated environments in just 120 square meters.
The client’s initial request was immediately clear: comfort, clear separation between public and private environments, between day and night areas, living room and kitchen and on the services. To do this, in addition to exploiting every little space available, we worked a lot on the lights and geometric perspectives with respect to the user’s preferential points of view, using natural light to our advantage, studying artificial light and acting on the colors of the walls.
The result was:
A glass window which, depending on needs, becomes darkened by means of an electrically controlled Venetian blind, divides and separates the living area from the kitchen. The need was to create multipurpose and modular environments that allow the public area to be configured according to needs. The kitchen area, being positioned to the south, enjoys significant natural light which, in the case of the open Venetian blind, passively benefits the living room.
