In the heart of the pleasant“campania felix”, between vaults frescoed byBullsin a floral style with a direct reference to the vine married to poplar andmajolicaof the manner, stands one of the most important late eighteenth-century palaces, the historic residence of one of the families of theCaserta bourgeoisie.
The project involves the total redevelopment of the building and its conversion into a lounge bar and place for disseminating culture throughtemporary exhibitionsand permanent art and musical performances, alongside the tasting of excellent food and wine products from all over the world.
Research on the building and compositional “type” leads to “recompose the architecture”, bringing to light the ancient splendors of the time, what was the original architectural character of the building.
The obstinate search for beauty and respect for historical pre-existences, with some decisive and punctual ideas, outline a“sui generis” creative mix.The environments are divided into different rooms each for eachtasting experienceproposal. Where restoration was not possible, the atmospheres of the time were recreated by reusing pre-existing architectural elements and furnishing components selected following in-depth research.
Entering the palace the ancient courtyard characterized byfrescoed barrel vaultshas been preserved in its original integrity and enhanced through a study on diffused light which highlights thehistorical-artistic heritageof the palace. The polychrome marbleswhich characterize the main staircase have been restored and the windows present have been enriched with the choice of curtains of the famousBourbon silk factories of San Leucioin line with the historical period.
The protagonist of the palace is the ancientparty hall, characterized by the presence of a pictorial work byVincenzo Luigi Torelli, which acts as a backdrop from the first entrance hall.
The furnishing elements and curtains deliberately present distinctive identifying features, such as to create a strong contrast with the pre-existing ones, but maintaining a balanced relationship with them.
The main example is given by the inclusion of the central bar counter, designed and created as a“stage”which gives prominence to the painting.
