Casa ORO is an experiment, Casa ORO is a provocation, Casa ORO wants to be a permanent research laboratory on neuroarchitecture.
GOLD houseit is the expression of minimalism, “essential” is the watchword of this housing regeneration. The house is part of a residential complex of homes built in the early 1970s in a neighborhood west of Rome with standard layouts and environments.
Casa ORO was born with the intention of experimenting in the field with studies on neuroarchitecture applied to the residential sector, a theme that antoniodimar&Partners has been carrying forward in constant research for some time. All the spaces, the muscular organic sinuosities of the material elements, the multiple luminous scenography, the furnishings and thetexturesused, are the exact response to research on the topic. The objective is to give wise and targeted responses at a neurological level to individuals who use the spaces of the home, thus effectively applying to architecture the recent studies that neuroscientists together with architects have been carrying out since the early 1990s with the discovery of mirror neurons.
A golden monolith around which all the rooms are organized is the protagonist of this small house – which measures just 55 m2. Through the use of different shades of color the eye is deceived and gives a notable depth of field to small environments.
Given the modest size of the plan, it was necessary to think about and exploit every single space, which in fact often has a dual function, just think that the kitchen and services were created from what was a pantry (in true 70′ style).
